PT Palm Hijau Lestari has specialized in the cultivation and export of high value Live Ornamental Plants for interior decoration for the EU Market (Mainly). PT Palm Hijau Lestari has focused on the propagation and cultivation of indigenous Rhapis excelsa variety from East Java. Potted Rhapis Excelsa plants are exported by 40 feet HC. temperature controlled (reefer) sea containers from Surabaya to Rotterdam The Netherlands. For this purpose, PT Palm Hijau Lestari has established a large network of dedicated local farmers covering a large part of the South of East Java, (Tulung Agung, Blitar, Lumajang, Jember).
Palm Hijau Lestari was founded in 2006 in Jakarta and is now established In Jl Prof Dr Moestopo No 123 Ngadiluwih, Kediri Regency, East Java, Indonesia. Operating in the Live Ornamental Plants sector for Interior Decoration Needs, Experienced in the Ornamental Plants sector for more than 15 years and Has Legal Permit from the Indonesian Government.
In addition, PT Palm Hijau Lestari started cultivation of Pandanus Pygmeae, which is a dwarf Pandanus variety, so far only found in Indonesia. This Pandanus variety is attractive mainly due to its roots, which look like stelts, which carry the decorative foliage of the plant above the soil in the pot. This Pandanus variety has proven to survive well the transit time Indonesia — The Netherlands by sea container.

PRODUCING HIGH QUALITY ORNAMENTAL PLANTS
To make high quality ornamental plants requires long process and Special Skills. Small plants (starter plants) from local farmers are planted in large plastic greenhouses, (high humidity — high temperature), to force rapid growth of new roots. After new roots have developed sufficiently, plants are potted accordingly to pot size and height of plants. New potted plants, when well established in the pots, after another month in plastic greenhouse, are put outside, under shade and on covered floor, to be grown for another 3 — 4 months until export quality ready. Plants are not overly fertilized, this to create “HARDY” plants which have no difficulty to survive 4 – 5 weeks in closed sea containers (average transit time Indonesia — Netherlands). All plants for export are under strict Phytosanitary control. Planting medium is PURE COCONUT FIBER sterilized and maintained without contact with common soil.
